Katie RothenbergVice President, Sustainability & Innovation HITT
Katie brings more than 10 years of commercial real estate and corporate sustainability experience to HITT. In her role as vice president of sustainability and innovation, Katie is responsible for all aspects of sustainability and driving ideation for the company. She directs the strategic development and implementation of HITT’s corporate responsibility program, infusing a triple bottom line approach into operations to ensure value and maximum impact. She leads the sustainable construction team, working collaboratively with project teams to further meet and exceed our clients’ sustainability goals. Katie is also the driving force behind Co|Lab, HITT’s center for innovative research and development opportunities.
Katie led the design and construction effort for Co|Lab and will lead the initiative long-term to drive research and testing of emerging technologies, products, and practices that will transform the construction industry and built environment. This important work will rely heavily on collaboration with industry partners and community stakeholders.
Prior to joining HITT, Katie was a member of the global energy and sustainability team at CBRE where she consulted with large national Clients to create and execute programs that support corporate environmental goals. Katie created CBRE’s first LEED Volume certification program, and certified 46 office buildings encompassing more than 20 million square feet and 93 retail buildings using an industry leading program that was nominated for the CoreNet Global Innovator Award in 2014. Her sustainability career began at the U.S. Green Building Council headquarters in Washington, DC where she used her real estate expertise to drive engagement in the green building movement nationally.
